I've recently had many conversations with individuals who are questioning various aspects of their faith, including the Asbury Revival, mysticism, gifts of the Spirit, and deconstructing their beliefs. These individuals come from various streams of Christianity, and regardless of their background, many seem to be searching for something more. They are hungry for answers that traditional church settings may not provide.

In today's world, we're bombarded 24/7 with news, endless social media feeds preaching opposing views, conspiracy theories, and disturbing acts of violence. Even as Christians, it can seem like we can't agree on anything. Regardless of the hot-button issues being discussed, I've met righteous individuals on each side of the matter. This can bring about confusion and questions that can make us feel like we're being tossed around by the waves of the sea, leaving us feeling unstable in everything we do.

If this resonates with you, it's crucial to settle this in your heart. We often need to be reminded of what is true and be reminded of our foundation in Christ. Here are a few of my favorite verses that remind me of my identity in Him:

Song of Solomon 4:7 ESV - "You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you."

Ephesians 2:10 ESV - "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them."

Psalms 139:13-14 ESV - "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well."

Colossians 1:22 NIV - "But now he has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation."

Ephesians 1:3-4 ESV - "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love."

I believe many individuals are seeking a place within the Gospel where they can feel safe amidst the chaos. I believe this place is in a community with (at least) 1 or 2 people that you trust. So, when we encounter chaos and forget our true identity, our community will call out our authentic character, anchoring us in stability. I know the process of finding this community can be quite uncomfortable. If you don’t have that community yet and you're seeking a friend to talk to as you navigate your faith, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I'd be honored to walk alongside you as you look for answers!
